Rennie - I appreciated your response about The Sushi's. I don't think that the "Fish Domain Usernames" are all bad. At times, he is a bit cruel (unnecessarily, I admit) but most of the time, he has me rolling in stitches at his antics. So, I see your point; who cares if it is me or Gov. Wise - it is not going to change the tone of his posts. Only Kirk knows and he ain't talking! I used to hope that he would publicly remove me from suspect - but he hasn't.

Just Some Girl - I admit that I havent seen the fruits of your gardening labor - but I will have to now! I was just using the old noggin to picture you. You are a hell of a woman. I may have to start stalking you if we don't get some time to chat, soon! This time I won't bring the Mister - he just keeps the topics too safe for my taste.

Sushi McTrout-Meal - I miss the days when I could fuss with you over the net then run into you around town. It always gave me such a charge. Watching the "animal" in his natural surroundings, while being made very aware that he has the power to woo me with is eyes! You are very handsome man; crazy, but totally hot. But, hey - ain't we all a bit crazy? I know I am (she does her obsessive-compulsive dance around the room)!
A NASA Report

---Ozone forms readily when sunlight strikes oxygen, so it is naturally present in our oxygen-rich atmosphere. In the upper atmosphere, ultraviolet light from the sun strikes the two atoms of molecular oxygen (O2) and splits them into single atoms. Those individual atoms each combine with another molecule of two-atom oxygen to make a three-atom molecule, which is ozone (O3). Most of this ozone converts readily back to oxygen, but a small amount of ozone persists.

Another ozone-forming process takes place in the lower atmosphere, where chemicals emitted from industrial processes, vehicle exhaust, and other products of fossil fuel combustion form ozone through a more complex series of chemical reactions. As concentrations of these pollutants involved in ozone formation (precursors of ozone) increase with industrialization and vehicle traffic, ozone concentrations increase at ground level where we breathe.
When we breathe air unpolluted by human activities, we usually take in about 10 to 15 parts of ozone per billion parts of air (10-15 ppb). However, pollution from human activities has elevated levels of the ozone we breathe. Surface ozone measurements have increased considerably since the onset of the Industrial Revolution, possibly by as much as 100-200 percent at some locations over the past century. (Fishman et al. 1999) Spring and summer ozone concentrations in many regions reach above 125 ppb during episodes of excessive heat and stagnant air. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established 80 ppb of ozone exposure over eight hours as the National Ambient Air Quality Standard, but recognizes the possibility that ozone exposure at lower levels over several years can significantly impair human health, especially the health of children.

Scientists liken the effect of overexposure to ozone to premature aging in our lungs. Ground-level ozone can adversely affect everyone. Ironically, people living in many rural areas suffer from ozone overexposure more than many people living in cities. This is because ozone levels are generally higher downwind of ozone precursor sources, at distances of hundreds or even thousands of kilometers, so ozone concentrations in rural areas can be higher than in urban areas. The high levels of ozone that are now common downwind of cities adversely affect the productivity of some crops and even wild plant species. Additionally, overexposure to ozone can compound effects from other conditions that stress plants, such as drought. Reactions involving ozone also cause deterioration of electronic devices and materials such as rubber, plastics, outdoor paints, photographic papers, and fabrics.

Ozone plays other roles the Earth’s climate system. It is a minor greenhouse gas and contributes to climate change. It’s also involved in chemical reactions that produce the hydroxyl radical (OH), which plays a critical role in the atmosphere’s ability to cleanse itself of many chemicals we consider pollutants. At the same time, the hydroxyl radical itself is necessary for ozone formation in the lower atmosphere.

Ozone chemistry in sunlight (photochemistry) is one of the most complex phenomena in the natural world. Ozone’s effects on the systems of the Earth are no less complex. They challenge our understanding, and at the same time, they are very important for us to understand. Ozone affects human well-being and the health of agriculture and ecosystems.
ladyinwaiting~ I'm reading and enjoying here very much. Easier for me right now to agree with your comments as I read them and the new subs. Thanks for your comment to me. All the subs are enjoyable and/or interesting to me one way or another at Blender ... one reason I keep reading and posting here.

Rhetty~ not to worry, the syntax tells the story :). I enjoy your good humor and honesty in subs and comments. I always like to see a new sub from you if you are writing about a pen or what you want to do in life. Sush is a marvel. I go dig out the fishy subs and enjoy that direction, and want to see more. I yank a chain here to get more feedback and a better appreciation for someone's mind. We get enough of nothing but lol :) and one-liners elsewhere. The posts are far more meaningful with the feedback. Often, Jim and I keep inspired at times by "broadsiding" each other, but not duking it out in real life as we only vaguely know each other. My (Rennie's) Captain has enjoyed seeing me still alive and regrouping again with good folks here. He's aware of how (many of us) Jim and I take a thought, word, phrase, old feelings and let 'er rip rather than wonder where the muse is hiding. I've NEVER had writer's block from working in good creative communities. Helps to have something in common to get inspired. We only learn what we really have in common by the feedback here.
Hey there is no reason to talk bad about carol on this site. if we have nothing good to say why say anything at all. Poems are made to express feelings even if it is profanity which i dont think many folks up here like. But on this board to stop the arguments and everything just keep the positive comments in and if you dont like something then dont put it thats what i do and why cant every one else do the same? I can garantee if you guys would stop saying bad things about carol she would more than likely keep her comments to herself (the bad ones atleast) and i have been reading comments up here and thats why i talked about cutting. You havent really liked her since she said she did that but is that a reason to hold a stereo type in my eyes it isnt. and if you guys have racial issues on people like that you should take them somewhere else in my opinion if that counts for anything.
Im not trying to be a know it all or anything we still have alot to learn i will always be learning something new but just remember you were also a kid at one point in time. so dont take your anger out on younger people cant you find better ways? sushi~ Camille Pagila Quote interesting quote here. But people often take things out of context in reading, do they not? Take for instance, a friend of mine who bought a second-third-fourth hand car with Harvard and Vandy decals on the back window. The most prominent bumper sticker was "Clown At The Wheel!" .. funny to him since he went to "Ole Miss" ... but I pointed out the smaller stickers that rustbucket touted "Sarasota" and "Ringling Museum" ... we can't always assume proper representation of anything from the shorthand tidbits of life we happen to notice at a glance ... takes digging a bit deeper on most anything for the real story. Thanks for the thought-provoking quote ..... Rennie
jw, B.K. ~ I'm with you on this.

Kids ~ Fact is, this is a site that WILL critique your work and WILL let you know if it is off topic. Many of you younger ones are overly sensitive and overly emotional. Your reactions to the other posters here are immature and are hyper-reactive (yes, obviously because of your age, but considering what some of you write about I would assume you feel you're able to deal with adult concepts). This is NOT an insult to you. It is an observation. Just so you're clear...the dictionary meaning of 'immature' is; "lacking complete development; not yet mature". See? So I'm not saying anything bad about you as a person...as I had TRIED to explain in my last comment. If you are going to be here, you need to be able to take negative comments as well as any positive ones. Grown-up stuff here. That's the way it is. You don't always get to hear what you want to hear. B.K. was right. You younger ones would probably have a FAR better time at xanga.com. No one is going to get all over you for what you post there. As she said, you can create your OWN world there with YOUR own rules. See, the Blender has rules, some unwritten and written codes of conduct. It doesn't work well to come here and try and change the rules and then bitch when no one lets you.

And you know, personally, I'm tired of reading the "r u in luv wit me?" and "gets it in reel do u now whet I meen?"
Come on! Seriously? If you want to put your stuff out there, take some pride in it and clean it up. Make it presentable, give people the impression that you have a brain in your head. You don't go to a formal soiree in your dirty work clothes unless you want to be ousted. So don't come here all slack and lazy unless you want to be chastized.

I can promise you that as long as you remain here you WILL continue to have people comment on what you write and how you write it. It's the nature of our Blender beast. It's not anyone "picking" on YOU.
