Tanq~<BR>
Thanks, guy! I appreciate that. I love the description of the beet in Jitterbug Perfume. I can't wait to read the novel in its entirety. I wish I had more of a history in the Crescent City. I've only been there as a child, oddly enough. New Orleans should definitely be savored and explored as an adult! I keep meaning to celebrate my birthday there since it falls on the 17th of February, which is smack dab in the middle of Mardi Gras, but all I have are my dreams. I remember walking down Bourbon Street with my parents, seeing the murals of strippers with decorated nipples. Later on my little sister told everyone that she aspired to be a nurse someday. I informed my family that I aspired to be a stripper in New Orleans.<BR>
<BR>
Thanks for thinkin' up a list. I enjoyed reading that. If I had made a list ten years ago it would have looked something like this:<BR>
Prince and the Revolution..."Purple Rain"<BR>
Patsy Cline...Greatest Hits<BR>
En Vogue..."Born to Sing"<BR>
Duran Duran..."Decade"<BR>
Blondie...Greatest Hits<BR>
Beatles..."Sgt. Peppers"<BR>
Pink Floyd..."The Wall"<BR>
"Saturday Night Fever" sndtrk<BR>
"A Chorus Line"...original cast recording<BR>
Eagles...Greatest Hits...one that had "Peaceful, Easy Feeling" and "Best of My Love" on it<BR>
<BR>
...oh, and I was also craaaazeee 'bout dem Beach Boys and Buddy Holly.<BR>
<BR>
Barry Manilow always frightened me. <BR>
Liz, I enjoyed reading your list, too!<BR>
I want to read more! More, I tell you!<BR>
Violet, I think I'm here to stay. But my muse is bowling somewhere in South Dakota and her number is unlisted.

p.s. I encourage everyone to get the latest issue of Rolling Stone. Read the article on Rob Viscome. The article inspired my latest submission. I know I will have nightmares tonight. I am too easily bothered and upset, I guess. I still think about Nicole Brown Simpson too much and I don't think O.J. jokes are funny.

Look out folks; tough crowd. I think the jist of what I wrote last was caught by few. I was apologizing. In that apology I was trying to (and obviously not well enough)show what my thought process was with my recent rants. I was at no point attempting to peddle Christianity (got to believe to push it), and I wasn't trying to personally slam anyone either. I understand the point and focus of the "LOVE BLENDER", but I think that some might not. That is all. I surely hope that romance doesn't have to be or be confined to the sparks seen or lost between two people. What a drab existence. <BR>
When it all came down to it however, I was as easily attacked by those "defending" their positions and works. Why weren't mine taken so kindly? "Because Leamas yours was not constructive, but destructive" (that was your voice). I ask you which would you rather have: the constant praise and oggling about your works, or possibly, and I know it's hard to understand sometimes, somebody pointing out a different frame of mind. Sure I didn't have to be that harsh or sarcastic, but just as some of you have your own poetry style I have my way of writing too.<BR>
I am not better than anyone else, but I don't think you (general sweeping statement) are any better either. Your praise is generally restricted to the "group". The Brady Bunch of this site. You continually slap each other on the back, bump chests with high fives and overlook or choose to ignore relatively awesome works. In fact I watched one of the "bunch" (cough...BK) verbally lance one of this sites best authors just because you didn't like his/her work. Yet you surround me with kindling with torch in hand while you conduct you poorly hidden witch hunt. Shame on you. Well I've said my peice and will go to bed now. May your Saturday be like a frog on a hot rock.---LEAMAS

Oh and why are you so concerned about my lack of blender board accomplishments, I thought this site was used as a sounding board of feelings not as a competition? By the way I am an avid Pink Floyd, Cream, Mazzy Star, and TOOL fan. Kinda show emotional variety, eh?

Misti...I also say it is good to have you back in some form. Loved the list idea. I LOVE lists. I frequently ask people what thier Top 10 Albums are as well. And, The Church - whoa, sister! Under the Milky Way, Tonight is one of the best songs ever!<BR>
<BR>
First, let me talk about Barry. I, too, love Barry "the man" Manilow. My Mom loves him, and now in some weird way, I do too. And, I am all about Neil Diamond too! Hot August Night...OH YEAH! Thinking about booking The Black Diamond for my wedding reception! Even Gen X'ers can have some taste.<BR>
<BR>
Allow me...<BR>
<BR>
 1. Paul Simon - Negotiations and Love Songs<BR>
 2. Pete Yorn - musicforthemorningafter (new entry, bumped Pearl Jam - 10, just this past year)<BR>
 3. Pulp Fiction Soundtrack<BR>
 4. Dave Matthews Band - Before These Crowded Streets<BR>
 5. Indigo Girls - Indigo Girls<BR>
 6. Be Good Tanyas - Blue Horse (thanks JSG! This is a new addtion from last year, bumped Willie Nelson - Teatro)<BR>
 7. Dave Brubeck - Greatest Hits<BR>
 8. Notorious BIG - Ready to Die<BR>
 9. Beatles - White Album<BR>
10. Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes <BR>

You know, I've sat back and read this board for a while now, watched all the crap come and go, all the little corners form, all the little cliques, read all the insults....and do you know what?...this is supposed to be about poetry, no matter how bad as long as it's heart-felt, so......I'm out of here!!

wordley: I can understand where you are coming from, however, there are many different personalities in the world so it can only be expected that there will be some disharmony on occasion. Many people that have been on this site for years seem to think that it will pass. Personally, I assume they are right and look forward to it. That said, I hope you will reconsider as you will be missed. - Dana

I know, BK...like, WORD. Could this character be any MORE dour and humorless? I stand by my earlier observation: he/she/it probably hasn't been laid since the Ford Administration. And they need to get a new name. What's up with that?! Y'know people, the world isn't such a bad place! It's filled with fat fluffy clouds, buxom beermaidens, purring kitty kats (I have 2), KILLER hydroponic weed, benevolent webmasters such as our very own Captain Kirk....need I go on?<BR>

Indefensible Sushi<BR>
-- You know who Southern Culture on the Skids is? Rock on! I went to see them in Greenville (SC) for my birthday back in December. They were great in concert-- weirdly cool costumes, Christmas light deer antlers, huge cake fight (provided by the band). The guitars and keyboard are right on the money together. My favorite by them is "Walk Like a Camel". You've made my day and I've already put their CD in! Sushi, you cheered me up, whether you like it or not! Thank you.
