Very cool September issue. Thank you for your comments, Kirk. That poem sat two days thinking it was cooked, but I kept thinking there was something missing. So I set it aside. Woke up on day three and the words Passion and Pavlov finally knocked (loud) on my head, exactly what the voice was reaching for - so that's my favorite part as well. Thanks again, Madi

Word to mother, Wordley... (And HELLO to Teej!) This could be - and has been - a truly great forum for writers. Why Kirk lets so much nonsense slide is way beyond me. Benign neglect? Who's to say. OF COURSE controversial topics should be encouraged and tolerated - but continual postings by clearly-unbalanced individuals (a la Mark McNabb and his host of obnoxious alter-egos, Leamas, etc.) should not be. Has anyone stopped and considered how many talented writers have went elsewhere because of all this?
Funny Sush, someone whose opinion I value said the same thing to me not one hour ago. I think we wax and wane with the full moon falling by the wayside lately. If everyone would just stick to the subject at hand (love in its many forms) Quit using this as a petty quarrel forum, or bully pulpit shark show we might be able to draw our followings and poets back again. Try putting passion into poetry instead of kicking us all into the bottom feeding creeping catfish sideline shows.

misti: i have been drinking some of the chilean varieties lately. give concha y toro cab sav merlot and the gato negro merlot (not cab sav) a try. these are real mellow reds. like you, i had a time trying to get a red that i could handle the strong taste of. thankfully, someone turned me on to these two types. i am branching on to others as the mood strikes. and, by the way, the thanks go to you from keeping the doldrums out of my memories...
lady: nope, can't say you mentioned norah to me. it is the only thing good i can say about my recent aquaintance i made in northern arkansas. at least it was not a total waste of my time...
