Last weekend I viewed the movie, "the notebook" and I remember someone here at the blender recommended us to go see it...It's cleverly made and a lovely romantic movie...It probably won't be at the theatre much longer...

My mom loves that movie. I don't want to see it because I'm not in the mood for a tearjerker. I want to see "Garden State."

This is a real EYE-OPENER. The site is called MOTHER SPEAK and it's interviews with mothers whose children are the ones serving in IRAQ, telling what they are going through.
Read it if you have the GUTS to know the truth!
"Presidential Wannabee" John F. Kerry was going to visit the Catholic National Cathedral outside Washington as part of his campaign. Kerry's campaign manager made a visit to the Cardinal and said to him, "We've been getting a lot of bad publicity among Catholics because of Kerry's position on abortion and the like. We'd gladly make a contribution to the church of $100,000 if during your sermon you'd say John Kerry is a saint."

The Cardinal thinks it over for a moment and agrees to do it.

Kerry shows up, and as the Mass progresses the Cardinal begins his homily. "John Kerry is petty, a self absorbed hypocrite and a nit-wit. He is a liar, a cheat, and a thief. He is the worst example of a Catholic I've ever personally known. But compared to Ted Kennedy, John Kerry is a saint."
I've heard that joke before, usually about two brothers: http://209.102.199.81/sermons.nsf/0/680535fad72593b586256d9700555c97?OpenDocument

Besides, not just Ted Kennedy; compared to *GWB*, Kerry is a saint. Did you see that picture of GWB walloping the hell out of that other rugby player in a blatantly illegal hit? http://www.thismodernworld.com/weblog/mtarchives/week_2004_08_08.html#001687
Anyway, dragging this board semi-back-on-topic:
I'm not sure if I'll submit it to the Blender because it's only semi-romance-related, but I was pleased with how it came out: http://kisrael.com/viewblog.cgi?date=2004.08.18

oh my god, i've NEVER heard of anyone giving or taking such a hit... in RUGBY. Again, you whiney ass romantic libs can spin a random rugby hit into more proof of Dubya's evil. And God have mercy on your poor dumb soul if you even think for a second that somehow Kerry or Ted Kennedy are saints as compared to Dubya... what a bunch of f*ckin' maroons...

at least dubya didn't dodge the draft like Slick Willie Clinton nor did he earn false medals for having tiny metal specks picked out of his ass...

I'll be back in November to watch the monkees come flying out of BK, Kirk & Co's collective asses when George W. Bush gets re-elected! Until then, hope y'all bust a mental gasket over the whole damned thing.

i can just see little kirk getting his panties all up in a wad over an illegal rugby hit, despite the fact that most of rugby is one fast furious illegal hit "ooh ooh, referee that was an illegal hit, illegal hit!!" (jeez, the guy even has an old pic of Dubya from college... I'd call that OBSESSED)

Yeah, I'll be disappointed if GWB gets elected.

If GWB would come clean about his 1970s cocaine fueled binges or the way he not only dodged Vietnam but even his lame Nat'l Guard duties, then I might have an iota of respect for him. As it is, no. Combined with how I disagree with him on almost everything, from his disrepect of Koyoto, his anti-stem-cell-research stance, his refusal to moderate his right wing stance despite getting less than half of the popular vote, to bringing us to a war that I am really convinced has left us less safe, not more, I think 4 more years of him is the worst possible outcome of this election.

Oh, and Yeah, "I" have an old pic of Dubya from college. Or, maybe, it was a link that was going around that I knew about because I posted it on my other site. Duh.

I think the man has been about as forthright and forthcoming as he needs to be on the Guard topic. Most vets also believe that, and I will defer to their judgement on that item. The war you question (+ Afghanistan) has only made the world more safe, and we've had no further attacks since 9/11 here. In his Presidency he has made some huge mistakes like Clinton and the others did - and he has liberated 60+ million people that share our planet, ended two terrorist regimes, and probably has done more for women globally in bringing freedom and democracy to Iraqi women than any other president we've seen. He stands firm on his beliefs, he has been pretty open (as any other person may need to be) about hsi past addictions. I look at Dubya and laura Bush and feel confident that I am getting exactly what they are, a good decent strong maried team... unlike the sham of the Clinton's. i know Dubya isn't fucking over his wife, and frankly that means more to me as an American than about anything else these days. His Cabinet is more diverse and reflective of America than any of his predecessors. After the tragic impact of 9/11 on our economy, it is now in full recovery - like him or not, his economic plan has been working about as well as anyone else could've mustered. Bush may be a dumbass, but he is a real honest fucking sincere dumbass that believes in something... and has far mor eintegrity, honor, commitment, vision, and leadership than most of you are willing to see or allow. I realize most of you are still angry about the election. This time his win will be decisive and will set -back the cause of ultra-out-of-touch-liberalism for decades, thank God. Our country was way f*cked up before Dubya ever held the office. You know, I am proud to be supporting the guy. I know that it honors my upbringing, my parents and family, and my core faith to be standing up for the guy. Like, I am so glad and relieved to just let down the hatred and act just a little patriotic. It is all the bile and stupid uninformed partisan hatred of the guy that won me over... like, the most RADICAL and CREATIVE thing I can possibly do is to SUPPORT MY PRESIDENT. I don't like everything about the guy, I don't think you're supposed to. A President isn't supposed to be some hipster wiseguy celebrity like Clinton. He or she is someone who is willing to do the thing that you or I cannot do (we can only bitch and moan or support the guy). Whatever. Kyoto is a U.N. sham, a huge intellectual mindf*ck. Nobody gives a f*ck about Kyoto, or otherwise Bush would. The U.n. is a worthless sham. The thing that scares most of you is that Bush is way more reflective of what America is all about than you. And if you think Bush is some kind of evil villain, then you clearly don't know a rat's arse about John F. Kerry or what a kerry Presidency would look like.

Doesn't matter. It isn't going to happen.
