well starting to look through some of the older stuff i've missed, i stumbled uppon this little gem. i really like the whole wine metaphor, and that whole first 4 lines made me smile and drew me into the rest of the poem. perfect finish too. well done my friend, well done.

my mentality on a whole has taken a huge negative turn since my love and I reunited last month, it seems to have been nothing but ups and downs, so much so that it is killing me and I feel like an empty shell walking around without a hint of spirit, I truly hope that whatever in your life that is causing you pain subsides and much blessings be upon you know, xoxoxo

This is an excellent piece, almost deceptive in its simplistic rhyme and tone--because it is anything but. Very clever, actually. It made me think of how much we write, because of something--in an effort to sublimate, to take the attention off something that is on our minds. When we cannot do, often the only answer is to..."write it out." Great piece.

Sorry I pushed enter without finishing, also I cling to the smallest thing that can give me an ounce of comfort like work,my daughter(who is not in the least bit a small comfort but a huge one)and even the simplest thing like my passion for words. Sorry it took so long to write back, but I have to tell y'all that I just went to Laughlin, Nevada for the weekend and was married to a wonderful man on the U.S.S. Riverside, and had a blast! I've been single for over 15 years, so WOW what a change!! Looking forward to lots of fun, lots of work, and lots of ups and downs. In for the long haul this time. Any words of advice out there????
