The Blender Survey Question

Have you tried anything you have learned or read on this site in your current relationship? If so, what was it and which Blenderite gave you the inspiration?
RennieLorca Yes -- not romance or erotica tips, I'm way ahead on that. I could see that the website was a search for love by the webmaster (Kirk) when I first got here. I liked it that he and Blender were a cut above all the other websites I had surfed at the time. I wasn't looking for love but inspiration to ghost write some romantic lines for a friend who was. I got hooked reading here. It wasn't just the Digest and new submissions, but the great community on the comments board. There was real teamwork and gentle crits instead of folks playing King of the Hill even though Kirk had the Digest to pick his "personal" favorites. The site was benign and addictive instead of another competitive and wedge-driving site among writers. I mentioned this to some friends who are also writers. They challenged me to write a bit here since romance was a real stretch for me. Soon, I decided to put my own website together that kept track of my journey with one particular person as we went from great friendship to a solid relationship ... doing that saved our relationship several times as I read our best lines to each other over and over when I was unhappy and very ill ... in no real mood for romance. It saved me -- saved us. So I'd have to thank Kirk personally for great inspiration that's lead to real love for me. I'd also have to thank most everyone at Blender for continuing inspiration during a very trying time in my life when I was ready for love but too ill to get out and live it. I'm fine now, very happy, and always inspired here ..... Rennie
Rhetoric Thanks to Jack, I now make my man-meat dress up like a sailor! Just kidding! I have learned from many here to be honest. Now, I also have learned that what I think in my head is a well-turned phrase, might not be. I have been as open with my feelings in this forum than I may have ever been in person. So, thank you for paying attention.
scqueen I belive I have learned from BK's consistent spirit to keep the faith - always. She never wavers.
wordley Scqueen, you read my mind!....B.K. is a constant reminder to us that, when things are at their darkest, it's still possible to see the end of the tunnel,
God bless you Babe!
Kirk Since I'm Brooke's puppet for this month, we are going to have to say "No, nothing comes to mind"

PS I'm kidding about the puppetness, she is currently screaming NOOOO and I do appreciate the blender blurb, which was a spur of the moment idea that came out well. If bitter.
muryan The only thing I've learned was to be open and honest, caring and accepting of another person. Now that I've done this... I think I've fallen in deeper than I've ever imagined possible for me. If we make it through the summer, I have a feeling that this relationship could be one to cherish forever. And I have EVERYONE on this board to thank for their inspirational and truthful words. Thank you.
poyen_fpy I let the person go. It was the hardest thing I've ever done for love
B.K. Kirk, I want to report SCQueen and Wordley for making me cry. Ya'll were supposed to say something snide like you were following my recipes and cooking suggestions. (Thank you both. This is why I love this place so much)
I've learned a great deal here, from lot's of people (Even you Sushi Poo) The diversity makes for great inspiration. (Darn it Jack, if you are reading this ET WRITE HOME..we miss you!)

Chances The courage to examine and learn my feelings/love (which I have always taken for granted or ignored), I speak more easily (which is just a sidekick from learning to express myself again) and ... I am not so 'threatened' by romance - which seems like a funny thing to say, yet, once I was.
