Bill Clinton is a f*cking idiot and the most shameful excuse this country has had for a President in my lifetime (and I worked for the first Clinton campaign and vited for him twice). A fraud...you should be ashamed that you STILL believe the con. Again, Bill Clinton is a disfunctional sad sorry disgrace - as an American and as a man. Bill Clinton was a farce, a hoax and a Kennedy-wannabee scumbag.
All these people griping and whining about the loss of our personal liberties are completely uninformed and unable to see people for who they really are. Apart from 9/11 (likely precipitated by Clinton's little bitch slap against Osama bin Laden when he lamely and unsuccessfully tried to wipe him out in the last Clinton term), I have personally felt no loss of personal freedoms whatsoever...nor do I know of any American who has. Lame mental masturbation is what all this political carping is all about. If you somehow think all this is about oil...well, THAT story may have been true when Dubya's daddy went to war, but it is a far too complicated issue to sum up as an issue about OIL. Maybe 20%...

Stargazer ~ I think I do know what you mean. There is a point in every writing (or should be?) that packs the punch. Something that grabs. When it's the last line or so, I have to go back and read the whole thing again. lol!
Anyway, thank you for your kind comments. And just for interest's sake, Hearts of Birds and Children is about my reaction to the book, "To Kill a Mocking Bird". I wrote the poem after reading that book for the 7th time. lol!

More to the point, the more you edit, the more liable you are if someone posts something someone elses considers libel or slander. Unfortunately, in the past I've had to take action and close accounts, but I prefer to stay out of that scene.
George Bush isn't dumb but I think a reasonable case can be made for him being what the AA folks call a "dry drunk"--his years of fast living (you know, "youthful indiscretions" though he wants to lay the smackdown on substance abusers who are much younger than he was) have probably taken a measurable toll on his mental acuity--and especially his emotional health. (His verbal gaffes aren't just cute little slipups, but they aren't a sign he's a total moron either.)
But anyone so quick to divide the world into "good guys" and "bad guys"--that is *really* dangerous.
Too bad we have such a screwed up elecoral college system, other wise the guy who received more votes would have won.
Oh thank god THAT didn't happen.

Zero Love~ i think that it is possible to stay friends with them if you really want to work it out but you both really have to want to stay friends because it cant just be one person giving all the effort and the other tagging along behind, now if you add to the fact that the other person hurt you, then thats a toughie. i dont think its possible to be as good of friends but maybe still friends. its all depends really but i think it rests upon if both people want to be friends an equal amount.but they're are extenuation circumstances to every situation.

As someone whose college degree is in Political Science, I am bemused by the talk of politics as if it really matters (to the powers that be, it doesn't). It's the Age of Mediocrity, folks, and it doesn't matter which delusional fool is in charge, they are all puppets in one way or another (except hands are in pockets as opposed to being on strings). This is all I have to say about that.
As for the war business, I think it is important to separate the people who are actually making the sacrifices for the rest of us from the so-called leaders who 'run the show.' THESE people (Americans in the Armed Forces) deserve every bit of our thanks and support.

I just wanted to post, that while I can't say for sure it is the best christmas story ever writen, this is a book to read. It is short (like 100 pages give or take).
I believe it is called The Gift (or The Present or The Christmas Gift, but you get the point). If you are not moved,I believe you are heartless! Sorry, it was in storage, and they kind of thought I needed to give them more money, so no author, and no definite name. Just a broke women telling you this book is excellent.
