Wish I'd recorded it all. Made some strong comments about post-9/11 America and the need to rip the shit outta Iraq and other countries led by the insane. Excellent...I think he shocked more than amused, I imagine the audience expected him to do typical leftie anti-American/anti-Bush bashing. At any rate, he was hilarious and right on the money. I thought we hit Afghanistan way too LATE after 9/11 and I fully support a good ol American asswhuppin in Iraq...the sooner the better. I've become kinda conservative in my old age...sorta balances the whiney liberal leftie I was in the college daze. As an American, I am deeply disturbed and offended by all the anti-American and anti-Bush rhetoric coming outta my fellow Americans. Sad, misguided, uniformed. George Bush is restoring the dignity and respectability of the Presidency after the eight depressing years of the Clinton "Rico Suave" Presidency...whether you like it or not. The world was just as bad off then as it is now, only we ALL believed Clinton's lies and BS - we became a nation full of enablers. We need leaders, not celebrities. And I voted for Clinton TWICE and was one of those people spouting off about moving to Canada if Bush was elected (like the dick, Alec Baldwin). Shows how fucking stupid I was...and I am willing to gladly admit it, in a post-9/11 world.

Bush has character and conviction; Clinton would say or do anything to get into your pretty political panties, like a degenerate alcoholic....and then make you feel all warm and special after the fact, while you are laying there with his hillbilly semen splattered all over yer face. That is the difference.

Thank God Martin Sheen isn't our President, he only plays one badly on TV (like Clinton did)...
So, I'm doing a little soul searching one day, looking for a reason, any reason, and I stumble across this site. Everyone's words have meaning.....everyone's words have a purpose. I read probably 30 or 4o poems that night, awe stuck by the beauty behind your (everyone) words. You gave me a new hope, a new meaning....I thank all of you for sharing your feelings. My feelings will never come out in such wonderful words....never with such beauty and grace...but what I do manage to scribble down on paper between life and sleeping I will share with you...with the hope it will someday save someone as your words have saved me. Thanks to all......blessings
DENNIS MILLER ON BUSH

"I want to congratulate my President. I think he had a great day. I think George Bush is a good man… and I think he's done a fine job in these last two years. I don't think he's a great man but I would prefer that our president would be a good man, because great men tend to believe they're great men and then they end up not being great men anymore. I like Bush because he seems like a regular decent guy....But I think the thing I like most about him is that he's not Clinton. I just think he's a decent guy.…When I watch the videotape of the retarded kids playing tee-ball on the White House lawn, on the field that he built for them. And I juxtapose it with Clinton and the wocka-wocka porno guitar of the Clinton administration. I just like Bush; he makes me proud to be an American again. He's just a decent guy."
ok...I normally ignore crap...

But George Bush is a normal guy?

He only used the silver spoon he was born with for bolivian marching powder---and then as Governor of Texas, imposed 30 years sentences on people who did the same thing.

This is not a normal guy to me.
This is not a nice guy to me.
This is a person who thinks that there are TWO sets of rules in the world. One for him, and one for the rest of happy assholes, sans trust funds.

Clinton may have had a loose zipper---but I don't remember people considering him stupid.
The depth and breadth of Clinton's intelligence can be summed up in two words: Monica Lewinsky

George Dubya Bush is the son of a President and war hero, is a graduate of Yale (and I haven't heard any Yalies bashing him as a dumbass), has "made a payroll" as the CEO of a professional baseball team and one of the largest States in the U.S. and led the U.S. brilliantly and selflessly through the 9/11 attack on our country by fucking terroristic animals that Clinton enabled...and Dubya is the guy that watched his father's ass get whipped by Clinton..and then beat THOSE losers and became President himself. And he is brave enough to start doing some serious housecleaning in the world. God damn, that is one helluva story. Almost inspiring, when you come to think about it. Not fake hillbilly bravado by the hick from Hope, Arkansas...the ultimate con artist, and you bought it. Bush isn't an actor like Clinton or Reagan, he isn't trying to make you buy the notion that he is smart or anything else but who he is. He is a real, flawed human like you and me...I only thank God HE is President and not YOU.

You can only see this when you admit how swayed and manipulated YOU allow yourself to be, by politicians and media. Very few people do any real, honest original thinking these days. Go find five people you trust who personally know Dubya and find out all you can. You'll be fucking amazed, in light of all the shit we've been fed and believe. I was.

Bill Clinton is a scumbag con artist, and we are NOW enjoying the fruits of his labors, make no mistake.
Practice your good reading skills, lassie. Nobody used the word "normal." DECENT guy, yes...but not normal (even I didn't say he was normal). Your writing shows your automatic bias, reading your "auto response" but not what is written. Where else in your life do you exhibit such closed-mindedness?
Sushi; First of all I could give a rats patootie who Dennis Miller is or not for...sorry not impressed. As for the wooden head, if he were just an average guy without daddys money, he would have barely gotten into jr college. Only Daddys money bought him Yale!!!!! I would bet if you put his IQ and Bill Clintons on the table, the woodens heads is barely over 100. Bill Clinton had the respect of the world in everything except his women expiditions and since the biggest percentage of men ALL cheat (and this does not make it right by any means)I don't see where the BEEF is there. (LAME EXCUSE NUMBER #) We had jobs and we had an economy.
Now you must have gotten a big pie slice from Bushy wushy to keep you so happy. Did you buy yourself A big RV??? I just hope whats coming outta Bushwackers ass is pure gold so we can pay for the major mistakes he's making with our country. NPR said that everything he promised for AIDS last year was written out of the budget right after the big speech which is what will happen again this year. You know he can hire the best speech writers in the world and the inflections are so damn insincere that hes still a dunderhead laughing stock. The man needs to take some ENGLISH lessons. But of course while he was CHEERLEADING (go big daddy) he learned how to talk right???

The main thing here Sushi, is that the rest of the world does matter. They think we are WRONG and that the American People care nothing about anyone but themselves. We don't have the money to go into a big war nor do we need to lose any lives for the right to drive big fripping gas guzzling RVs. What ever happened to getting OSAMA? I didn't hear his name mentioned once.
Our states are out of money and some are having serious droughts. All we need is more terrorist activity in this country and the economy will shut down. But there is no money for homeland security. The nightly news showed just how easy it was just to walk across the border from a national park in Canada or Mexico. We have a lot of problems that need to be taken care of here in our own country. Starting a war with IRAQ is just plain stupid and WRONG.
Any more thought to where I can "buy" some of your "original Shit" that you say you work so hard on? I know it's off the subject of politics. I'm trying to put together a collection of books by talented, yet not well known writers for a friend of mine, whom scouts for talent. I have what kind of writer you are, but I'd put a little money where your mouth is. Would you be so kind as to reply without sarcasm, bitterness, or literally smart-ass comments? I'm trying to show an interest in your work, not really you as a person, alas our personalities do sort of clash. Thank you for (please just a little bit) of your time.
Well, I've been trying to come up with a solution for world peace for years (right Vish?), and the only one that I think of that might possibly work is putting the women in charge, we dont have problems with testosterone and usually have better things to worry about than blowing each other up. Of course, the problem (especially in some countries) lies in getting the women in charge in the first place......
But at least (I think) we'd make a bigger effort to appeal to Saddams Goodwill. We wouldnt scream and shout then charge in like a bull in a china shop. I dunno, I just keep getting this feeling that he's got something up his sleave.
Yeah, and it's kind of ironic (in an Alanis Morissette kinda way) that one of I.S.'s initial rants (way back when under one of his first Blender names) was about how this site should be about love poetry and only love poetry. Anyone else remember that golden oldie? Personally I find his diatribes interesting to read, if more than a bit alarming. There is nothing more distasteful than seeing a creative artist (who should know better) or an academic (who REALLY should know better) grovel in deference before the rich and powerful. And that's what George W. is - nothing more than a glorified CEO. He's used the 9/11 thing very cleverly, taking every opportunity to turn this country into the surveillance state of his wet dreams. Oh, I forgot. He went to Yale. I recall him talking about that fact some time ago, mentioning with fondness that monument of Western literature, "The Greatest Gatsby". George W. is what happens when a good ole boy with a powerful daddy stumbles into a position of power. And, yes, Nader-voting progressives are every bit as blameworthy for the situation as check-pant highball-drinking country-club Republicans or SUV-driving, cigar-smoking, gay-bashing, talk radio-listening neocons. MORE to blame, if you ask me. Now let's get back to poetry, k?

jimmy~ Where's your Ode To The SuperBowl's Men In Tights" ... movie: Love & Romance And Tights From Afar (At the 50 Yard Line) ... lyrics worthy of Music Row: Oh say can you see my guys in tights ... I bought you the best seats, believing you'd always love me, so where do you come off moving to TAMPA? ... sports commercials: Looking For Love In the Off-Season ... Nike Shox commercials are trying to make tights and sports wear obsolete except for the scarf, no? Where will we look for poetic lines and romantic inspiration here? I just can't get it together to write some romantic lines about a politician now ... well, IF ya put him in some tights, I might ..... Rennie

You can just sit on your perches like WAR HAWKS or Fly aim and fire with the DOVES! ha This is all about love, because we'll have none of your bloody war except as the plunderers that you are willing to force upon us. The Karmic price to pay is going to be the peace and harmony of our nation. Was "Smooth Talker" too profane? I wasn't sure about posting that one. Does anyone think my stuff was good enough to be posted here? I'm not trying to beat comments out of anyone, but I feel very much out of my league. The welcome mat is always out for new poetry posters at Blender, Serenity. Blender is a very diverse and kind creative community and extended family. There are some fun holiday contests, but don't feel the need to always compete in all your postings as true worth comes from within yourself as you improve or try new directions here. Kirk, as webmaster, picks some personal favorites. His Digest picks, along with the comments on favs by others here, keep Blender an interesting and vital community. Like other new poets here this month, you are a welcomed addition. We are Blender siblings just venting in comments (during trying times) on politics and other items now and then, but the focus is romance poetry and love here ..... Rennie
