muryan~Thank you, I haven't been around here as much but I'm still trying to post. Recently I've been caught up in "free styling" at local poetry hang outs. It's been fun, the thrill of walking up to the stage and not knowing what you are going to say or talk about and then all of a sudden start "free styling" for minutes on end is such a natural high.

I somewhat agree with what you said about whats been going on here lately. I mean these are KIDS we are talking about and even if they are writing utter crap it's still a call for help or a way for them to relieve themselves of whatever may be going on in their lives. We all forget how hard it is to be a kid in this day and age. I'm not saying they should post more of that stuff, I'm just saying that this is a love poetry website. The internet is a huge place, and if they really need to express themselves in that manner a love poetry website is not the place to do it. Sure we can sympathize and offer them help, but that does not mean we should have to read about it. There is a difference between posting on the board and asking for personal advice and posting on the latest submissions page and begging for attention.

My 2 cents
Sister Gala; Oh yes, you tempt the senses with that one woman, very nice one.

John; I agree with you, I do have compassion for these people but this is not the time nor place just as you say. Professional help is needed and that I know I'm not capable of anything other than an opinion and all it is is DON"T, STOP, RUN, Get Away from anything that would hurt you, and GET HELP if you want to hurt yourself. SURVIVAL is everything! Every two and one half days the moon arrives up in another phase, everything changes and you might just like the new cosmic air.
John I really liked your last piece. It was wonderful.
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL OF YOU IN HERE.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Global warming
<<<<<
An increase in the near surface temperature of the Earth. Global warming has occurred in the distant past as the result of natural influences, but the term is most often used to refer to the warming predicted to occur as a result of increased emissions of greenhouse gases. Scientists generally agree that the Earth's surface has warmed by about 1 degree Fahrenheit in the past 140 years. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) recently concluded that increased concentrations of greenhouse gases are causing an increase in the Earth's surface temperature and that increased concentrations of sulfate aerosols have led to relative cooling in some regions, generally over and downwind of heavily industrialized areas.
>>>>>

Greenhouse effect
<<<<<
The warming of an atmosphere by its absorbing and reemitting infrared radiation while allowing short wave radiation to pass on through. Certain gaseous components of the atmosphere, called greenhouse gases, transmit the visible portion of solar radiation but absorb specific spectral bands of thermal radiation emitted by the Earth. The theory is that terrain absorbs radiation, heats up, and emits longer wavelength thermal radiation that is prevented from escaping into space by the blanket of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. As a result, the climate warms. Because atmospheric and oceanic circulations play a central role in the climate of the Earth, improving our knowledge about their interaction becomes essential.
>>>>>

Greenhouse gas
<<<<<
A gaseous component of the atmosphere contributing to the greenhouse effect. Greenhouse gases are transparent to certain wavelengths of the sun's radiant energy, allowing them to penetrate deep into the atmosphere or all the way into the Earth's surface. Greenhouse gases and clouds prevent some of infrared radiation from escaping, trapping the heat near the Earth's surface where it warms the lower atmosphere. Alteration of this natural barrier of atmospheric gases can raise or lower the mean global temperature of the Earth. Greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and water vapour. Carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide have significant natural and human sources while only industries produce chlorofluorocarbons. Water vapour has the largest greenhouse effect, but its concentration in the troposphere is determined within the climate system. Water vapour will increase in response to global warming, which in turn may further enhance global warming.
>>>>>

Geographic Information System (GIS)
<<<<<
A system for archiving, retrieving, and manipulating data that has been stored and indexed according to the geographic coordinates of its elements. The system generally can utilize a variety of data types, such as imagery, maps. Table, etc.
>>>>>

Global positioning system (GPS)
<<<<<
A system consisting of 25 satellites in 6 orbital planes at 20,000 km altitude with 12 hr periods, used to provide highly precise position, velocity and time information to users anywhere on Earth or in its neighborhood at any time.
>>>>>

Bandwidth
<<<<<
The total range of frequency required to pass a specific modulated signal without distortion or loss of data. The ideal bandwidth allows the signal to pass under conditions of maximum AM or FM adjustment. (Too narrow a bandwidth will result in loss of data during modulation peaks. Too wide a bandwidth will pass excessive noise along with the signal.) In FM, radio frequency signal bandwidth is determined by the frequency deviation of the signal.
>>>>>

Biosphere
<<<<<
Part of the Earth system in which life can exist, between the outer portion of the geosphere and the inner portion of the atmosphere.
>>>>>

Blackbody
<<<<<
An ideal emitter which radiates energy at the maximum possible rate per unit area at each wavelength for any given temperature. A blackbody also absorbs all the radiant energy incident on it; i.e., no energy is reflected or transmitted.
>>>>>

Climate Change
<<<<<
The term 'climate change' is sometimes used to refer to all forms of climatic inconsistency, but because the Earth's climate is never static, the term is more properly used to imply a significant change from one climatic condition to another. In some cases, 'climate change' has been used synonymously with the term, 'global warming'; scientists however, tend to use the term in the wider sense to also include natural changes in climate.
