Oh, philosophy, how I love you. Sushi, (without any strings attached) I would love to go the philosophy route with you (or anyone for that matter). If you understand the most miniscule point of philosphy you will understand where my gist is from. Sure I can write peotry ("but can he?"), but my main drive is philosophy, and it would be a great treat if we could(professionally) debate life questions in some other venue. Life could only be so sweet. I have to say I have read some phenomenal works as of late. I don't want to say who from, for fear of causing them a tremendous head. I don't want you to turn into the rest of the club (and you know if I'm talking to you).--LEAMAS or as some may call me LAME ARSE. P.S. Arrogant PEOPLE SUCK (even if you are [cough] {brainless} you trying to ignore me, you can't). You're being arrogant and you know it (I'd "cough your names but it's hard to cough names that start with R, B, and S. Too bad this is your only path to the horse, hope there is enough room. (whipsers to self: "bet they don't get that last line")--LEAMAS Har. Two hundred fifty + poems in a year. Must be grand.

I got VTO tonight! Fifteen minutes early! Wooohooo! I kept putting myself in AUX to eat melted miniature Reeses peanut butter cups. Tomorrow is my Friday night. Whew. People have always told me that I should be blonde. I'm blonde on the inside.

Splatipus, actually the weather was pretty decent. Rain for a few days in Germany and London, but besides that nice and sunny. In fact people are remarking how I finally got some color! (On that boat ferry up the Mosel in Germany, I got sunburned, but now I'm tannish, esp. by my low standards.)
Rennie, yeah, I actually dislike the term AWOL, because it implies a certain military-type resonsibility to say, hang around the message board, that I don't think anyone has. But it is kind of a convenient shorthand I guess...

I wish, especially after watching "8 Mile"...Eminem is left-handed. He's my new favorite blonde. Ha. I've watched that movie at least five times. It's funny 'cause when I flew to New York to meet Chris I remember waking up one morning to hear Chris pulling into the driveway blastin' his Eminem cd. I told him I thought that was ridiculous...a white boy blastin' angry rap from his speakers in an upper middle-class neighborhood. Now I want to buy all the Eminem cds. But yeah, I'm right-handed and I have black hair and I'm a 34B. But I have the spirit of a left-handed platinum blonde 36D. And I shouldn't have a Texas accent. I should have a Cockney accent. In a parallel universe...

I, too, will admit a strange attraction to Marshall Mathers. After 8 Mile, in all its pizzicato of life's symphony, I wanted him to bend me over a steel drum and make me his bitch! I don't usually go for the blonde, buff-boy thing either. But, he had me at Shut Up!

I like some rap - so the biggest hurdle for me was accepting E as an actor! I think he did a good job of playing himself without over-doing the poor, white trash motif.
I seem to be having writers block. I just can't think of anything to write about. I have no ideas popping into my head. Does anyone have any tips or advice or hints on what you do to get the pen moving again? I'd appreciate it. I need to write. It relaxes me and suddenly I'm not so relaxed. Thanks. - Dana

LOL. Rhet, I never liked the skinny blonde white trash type myself. I was always more drawn to the husky blonde white trash type. Ha. But each time I watch "8 Mile" I find myself envying the hell outta Brittany Murphy. This morning was the second time I've dreamed of the guy. Gawwwwd.

Misti! ha...I had a dream about him once where he was really a quiet, intellectual type off screen and we were in grad school together! Tell me that isn't the height of fantasy! We lived in the same apt. building. Ah, that was a good dream. I think Brit. enjoyed her stamping plant scene a little too much. I know I would.
Ladyinwaiting~ The Ghosts in Our Lives was remarkable. I have one particular bothersome ghost... one I still have feelings for... it seems like there is unfinished business with us, but until I get rid of Blue-eyes (If I ever actually want to) that business will remain unfinished. But I am learning from things that ghost is teaching me. Thank you my dear.

bp! Yeah, your poetry can take me away better than Calgon, you know? About those 'A's...LOL! It's just now the final week at CBC. I have been constantly worried about my GPA. Anything less than a 4.0 is unacceptable to me. I think my average is a 3.8 - 3.9. Grrr! But they ARE 'A's

B.K. ~ It was really interesting to consider the answer to your question of whether I was majoring in Music. The answer is a qualified 'No', the qualifiers being that I AM in a music appreciation class. (though Journalism / Criminal Justice with a minor in philosophy is my focus) So I re-read "It Is Done" with the concept you suggested at the forefront of my mind. I see what you are saying! It could be some sort of Zen/Gregorian Chant/Leonard Cohen sort of thing (not that I am actually comparing myself to THEM! I am not worthy.) But it really fits into this experience I have had in the music class, as our professor has asked us many times to listen to a work and describe our visual images. (I even submitted two of those here at the Blender.)

Leamas ~ Yeah, philosophy. ‘And I like it too.’ <---------(lame filk from an old Irish Spring commercial there) I just wanted to let you know that there are some of us who pick up on what you mean. For example, Plato’s theory of perfect forms. I think you alluded to it a while back, didn’t you?
Anyway, I think its really important to always adhere to the Socratic method of dialogue when discussing philosophical matters. In such dialogues the search for truth, not victory, is the desired means to the end. An appeal to reason is the appropriate tactic, rather than ad hominum attacks or veiled ideology. Avoiding defensive egotism and remaining open and sincere in the dialogue is imperative. Being sure to not make the beginner’s mistake of using logical fallacies is also something to watch for.
Any discussion that doesn’t adhere to these rules by mutual agreement of the ‘philosophers’ is a waste of time. Wouldn’t you agree? After all, one of Socrates’ accusations of the sophists of Athens was that they did not strive for wisdom, but instead used appearances and any means to justify the end (which was ‘success at any cost’) to advance their positions.
BTW, I have enjoyed the debates/discussions we’ve had in the past. Always stimulating.
