Kirk~ Thanks so much for the Digest pick on THE WORKS (some memorable times there with corndogs and Santana at a jazz festival). The "Hearts" are always so cute for the awards. Congrats to all who posted last month. I certainly enjoyed reading. More congrats to the others on the Digest. I did my best to read on a regular basis each day, but still missed some of these somehow. And, Gala, thanks for the fun contest for Valentine's. Congrats to the winners there. Sushi, thanks for sharing a bit more of yourself in the new subs. It was a treat for me to go back and read Anna again, along with some of her contemporaries. Welcome to all the new folks on Blender. Kase, get Gala to tell you how to get to Respite for some additional writers your friend might be interested in there. I look forward to another month of interesting reading ..... Rennie

Well this will probably be a stupid question to everyone, but if i don't ask...i will never know...I have read from two different submissions by two different authors "silver tongue"...what exactly is the definition of a "silver tongue?"
Thanks to the first person who tells me...

Chances, I have been absorbed in all your work...i admire when it can keep flowing out like it has been for you...

1 sense of silver-tongued (adjective)

1. eloquent, facile, fluent, silver, silver-tongued, smooth-spoken -- (expressing yourself readily, clearly, effectively; ``able to dazzle with his facile tongue"; "silver speech'' )

articulate (vs. inarticulate) -- (expressing yourself easily or characterized by clear expressive language; ``articulate speech"; "an articulate orator"; "articulate beings'' )
I can't speak for whoever else, but I'm refering to someone who speaks so smoothly, eloquently, but may have deception in mind. I didn't realize that someone else used it recently. I promise I'm not trying to steal anyone's glory!!lol Just stuck in a mental block. I remember a song my Mama used to listen to when I was a kid that refered to a man as "a silver tongued devil". Maybe that's where my mind dug it up from. \

Bridget- "The smell of bad grammer in the air." Somehow, that works wonderfully. I've never smelled grammer(lol) but I like your stuff. Congrats.

Thanks Rennie,
Kirk doesn't usually mind if I pitch the Respite every now and then...we aren't exactly competitive?
SO here is the link to Galadrial's Respite, for those who care to visit and post. I only recently learned that Meggy was a viewer, (thanks girl!)

And don't be surprised if you run into other blender names you know...

Also, I got approval from Oprah.com to run an "O" group---the aim of which is discussion about poetry from the mechanical end---not another place to post, but a place to learn...and maybe even teach.

Will fill you in as I do the room...

Kase,
Thanks for your information...I have heard the term many times, but never knew if a silver tongue was meaning a character flaw or not...I am assuming it depends on what other adjectives or descriptive words are being used in the read...
"Smooth Talker" Wow. You certainly told him, huh? I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that works through rages and vents that way. Welcome!! I'm haven't been here but a few months, but it's a great site.
Something about Valentines Days, I guess, but the use of "tongue" is running rampant!!

Gala-- Can you recommend any good reads? I'm trying to create a project and put together a collection for some one VERY special before Valentines' Day. Anybody? Thank you
His book, Covered Ground, was just released by Iriswhite Publishing last week...and some of the contents are in Poetdude's archive at the Respite...:)

Excellent contest entries, especially scqueen and Tanq! Too bad I didn't get off my lazy behind to enter, but I don't think I could have come close to the quality I see here. Thanks, Gala, for the motivation :)

Congrats to all the front page picks also (Violet -- The cowboy is laughing is excellent -- it wasn't the Tanqueray Cowboy, was it?)
And last but by no means least -- a quiet "thanks" to all who have encouraged personal squabbles to move off the board so the rest of us need not witness them. At the moment there's so much anger in the real world that we can't avoid dealing with; I'm sure many of us feel no inclination to be a spectator to yet more...
