JIM: Thanks so much for the generous comment. Yeah, you're right, Sophie, my daughter is a lovely child.

RENNIELORCA: Thanks for the warm welcome. I am now in love with Blender. :) The Guitar may not be successful in drowning my thoughts but it hels in a way. Till then.

KIRK: A toast you! Would you believe that Blender came to my life ala Serendipity. It just found me just like that, and fell in love with it. Carry on, Kirk!

This may sound dumb, but, I'm just curious on how any of you organize your poetry. Do you alphabetize your poems or organize by date or do any of you organize a different way? Mine just seems so unorganized and I would like to fix that. Any ideas from anyone would be helpful and appreciated.

Thanks, Dana

Hi Dana. It's not a dumb question at all. I guess I'd say if you're organizing for yourself, it makes sense to organize them in a way that makes it easiest to retrieve them. Say, you remember all the titles in your head, you might want to alphabetize. Or you have different themes - you might like to have them by category. If you like to remember times in the life, or journaling - by date. Personal preference. Mine are organized by date in one box (computer) and alphabetically in another. No, I'm not Virgo, far from it, I just have a lot of energy and don't sleep much : )
Dana --

I keep mine electronically in an MSWord file, so they're organized by the date when I started working on them -- new ones just get tacked on the end as they come into being. When a piece is finished, which is sometimes a loooong while after it's begun, I'll note the date at the top of the page but I don't rearrange them.

The next-to-last page always has a bunch of random jottings, seeds for future pieces; and the very last page is my "reference" page -- it has a list of rhyme schemes and rules (the various sonnet patterns, triolets, haikus etc). Since it's Word, I can easily generate/update a table of contents at the front so I can find a particular piece. And if I can't remember the name I can always search for a phrase!

The hard copy file on the other hand, is emphatically NOT searchable, so I keep those alphabetically by title. Since most of my pieces are about the same thing (haven't ventured far from the Romantic Love category, much to my chagrin!) I don't sort by topic.

Interesting question, thanks!

Lulu~Enjoyed reading 10 Things I Hate About You . I also enjoyed watching the teenie-bopper movie with the same title. If I'm not mistaken didn't Julie Stiles say something very similiar at the end of the movie?

Take care.

Jon -- silence -- the last lines are especially poignant -- there are many different kinds of silence, and the silence of indifference when love has died is perhaps the most deafening of all.

Rennie -- Love at First Sight -- thanks for sharing this -- kind of makes you believe in fate after all, doesn't it? (BTW the "together as one" line wasn't me, it was Elocution -- hm, this might get confusing!)

B.K. -- Mosaics of Desire -- "restless blue-eyed leopard/waiting patiently to pounce" great line!
kevin -- assignation -- vivid and original, "all the love/in your restless heart/grew wild at the side/of our road together" I *really* liked this...
Thank you all so much for any comments made. I do appologize, I am about half here and not thinking clearly lately. We've had another Uncle die in the family yesterday. I post to keep My Darlins spirts high and the Corgis drag me for walks to keep me going. I promise I will return soon to participate again. Keep up the lovely works
