wOw oh wOw, Ms. Rhet~
you have made my month with that comparison. I just spent a couple of hours digesting Jason's stuff (here and at his site)and I am beyond flattered to be compared to such a stellar writer. thank you muchlierest!!! the piece about Jane the geek is my absolute favorite. I also love The Day We Pretended We Were Married. I urge everyone to read more of Jason's stuff at his site and check out his catering business, as well! He is the chef my psychotic pseudo first husband wanted to be. He must be...he made a meal that featured gourmet chocolate dishes for each course.

I've never seen "The French Connection" but my husband says he has it buried somewhere in his video collection. I'll have to watch it. Tonight I watched "The Mothman Prophecies." Whoa, it happened in West Virginia and it's based on a true story. I'll have to read more about it. I like the way Vonnegut writes about West Virginia in Breakfast of Champions.

~now I'm hungry for chocolate and all I have is a bag of miniature Almond Joys and I'm trying to lose ten pounds by thinking the flab away

On that one I'll admit maybe I over-reacted. I have too much stress going on right now. With one parent just out of hospital with lung cancer and the other just operated on yesterday(spinal surger) it's been too much for me. My nerves are shot. It just looked really crass that all we need do is take someone elses poetry and do imitation art and make front page. But there are lots that love Wierd Al and lots of imitation. What have you we live in an imitation world. (so be it) There thats all I have to say. I preffer ORIGINAL thats about it. Poetry is having your own style not some one elses.

I don't know what any of you have to say about it and don't really have time to care right now. I haven't been back to see. If you would like to share any of this please feel free. I've decided to take a breather from blender. Both parents need my attention and I have no time to give to blender. Perhaps I will be back the first of the year, we will see what happens. I will either stockpile my poetry as he will still receive it and or, It will also be at Xanga at slinky BK

"Mothman Prophesies" is a great book and an AWFUL movie...and don't be deceived by all that "based on a true story" mumbo jumbo that Hollywood barfs everywhere. "Mothman Prophesies" woulda been a good movie if they set it in the 1960's when it supposedly occurred...and if they'da gotten an actor who has more than two major facial expressions to choose from...fake-Buddist Richard "Gerbil" Gere, indeed! If you want a good, realistic, scary story about West Virginia, read Lee Maynard's "CRUM" or watch a documetally called "Dancin' Outlaw." Both capture WV quite well...
Stephen~ Really? You hate John Mayer? I like his songs. He just seems like such a nice guy. And I think his lyrics are real. He doesn't seem like an overpaid pop star... it's like he could be my neighbor. I guess I am just a sucker for sensitive guys. ~Vi

But, at least they are expressing their art and MAKING the film, instead of merely TALKING about it.

Violet, I loved Lobstah and Pineapples. My husband and I will be moving next year and I am already homesick. You captured your home beautifully.
