Ok...Inquiring minds wanna know.

What goodies do you feed your loved one?

Forget Oysters, grapes or olives.
What is something you offer as a treat (food please, kids may be around!) to your special someone?

Or...what would be the perfect meal?
Well, Michael is allergic to nuts so I can't make him my famous walnut brownies. I'm just grateful he lets me cook for him at all. That's a treat. So far I've only made mundane stuff for him...scrambled eggs and bacon, boiled potatoes seasoned with Tony Chachere's, mac and cheese, Ramen, frozen pizza, rigatoni, green bean casserole. Once we have a fully equipped, stocked kitchen, I'm going to get down to business and make Michael my mom's awesome green chile enchiladas. And he's promised to make me some green chile stew.

Oh, and the perfect meal would be:
appetizer- grilled shrimp Caesar salad with riesling or chardonnay for me and whatever non-alcoholic beverage Michael would want to drink
entree- New York Strips grilled medium well
side- baked potatoes with sour cream and chives and crumbled bacon and cheese
dessert- that white chocolate raspberry cheesecake from Olive Garden, my absolute favorite dessert...with coffee (one cream, two spoonfuls of sugar)

Hmm. Well, my fiance makes incredible red chile chicken enchiladas... A perfect meal would probably be anything "New Mexican" Mexican (if she has to translate the menu for me, the food's most likely great) preferably in front of a kiva fireplace with the smells of burning pinyon pine in the air. And if snow flakes are drifting down outside, all the better.

Gala,
Are you looking for new recipes? I remember how much you like to cook new things :-)....My loved one's favorite meal is country fried steak, rice, brown gravy, green beans, jalopena corn bread, and an awesome homemade brown sugar, pecan, coconut icing that has to be broiled on top of a homemade (just out of the oven) oatmeal cake. He also likes his lipton tea fresh, hot and sweet poured on top of a large glass of ice...On a hot summer day he likes to be brought lemonade and on a cold winter day he likes me to surprise him with a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows...His favorite homemade candy is called a Hello Dolly and it's a layer treat of graham crackers, chocolate chips, coconut, pecans and eagle brand milk. He will eat blue bell moolennium icecream anytime anywhere...
He has always teased me that when I served him fresh sliced fried potatoes, not the frozen kind of french fries that he grew up on, is when he knew he was in love with me.
pam: your oatmeal cake sounds like my fav one that i ask for every year for my bday and then make it for myself since no one else will. it is the most awesome cake. it is even better the next day or two days later since it stays so moist.

misti: i sent you my recipe too, hope you like it.

gala: girl, if you want recipes, i can hook you up. cooking is my passion and i never get to do it anymore with my dtr in college. i'd love to be a caterer. i made up a recipe the other day and was just a bit proud of myself. it was chicken with pesto, bacon, provolone and a tomato topping that was enough to die for if i do say so myself. let me know if you want me to talk cooking...

Pam; Jalapeno cornbread is what I made for Thanksgiving and ate it all like dressing before I could even share it. (I make it with buttermilk) I also have the makings for the oatmeal cake sitting on the kitchen table. I'm making it for xmas and everyone is right it's absolutely one of the best cake recipes.(making me hungry just thinking about it ha)

I'm looking for a good trifle recipe. With natural ingredients a la ladyfingers and real whipped cream with fruit sandwiched between everything wonderful. Anyone got one of those that they can vouch is to die for?
That link had nothing to do with this place.
Rude to invite folks where they are not welcome.
And it said in BIG LETTERS---the unsaved are unwelcome.

So next time, post it in politics.
And I see Misti has cooked something up...anyone else up for the Christmas challenge?
