the one i wrote, paper lantern, was actually inspired by a picture i saw on msn on day as i brought it up. tons of lanterns in thailand just floating off into the sky, some ceremony, and i thought it was breathtaking.

The Peyton Place I mentioned I believe was in New Jersey, or thereabouts. But yes, the old novel dates me. Simply a metaphor for my current community, a nest of vipers intent on malicious gossip and character assasination. I miss the anonimity of the big city, invisible among millions of my fellow men and women.
Don't mean to be bitter, but just ready to move on.
