the one i wrote, paper lantern, was actually inspired by a picture i saw on msn on day as i brought it up. tons of lanterns in thailand just floating off into the sky, some ceremony, and i thought it was breathtaking.
Desperate – I like this. And I so identify with the desperate hours!
And December 9 is brilliant.
“I turned from the one I love
(he slept soundly, unsuspecting)
and fell into the mist of
you.”
”Sometimes though
when I can't sleep
you are still able to reach me.”
Great, great piece.
B.K.
Quote – How very true!
And Weebles Wobble But They Don't Fall Down was a fun read.

Jwb71913
New Tattoo – Excuse my ignorance but is ‘Peyton Place’ same as that mentioned in the book of the same title?

J. knipp
WISTFUL(L) MOON – this is lovely.
“And those thoughts of you, always of you.”

Marshall Hann
The Snowy roof(of a phonebooth) – Another good one from a great writer!
Strangers and Untitled are heart rending.

Violet
and now you're asking me to save the date – I loved this

Iammyself
when does this life end and the next begin? – this is very touching.
Loved these parts most:
“we came together, we broke apart, we came together, we broke apart.”
“so, you see, love...we'll never really be apart...never.”
“i believe it was rumi who wrote: out beyond the ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing there is a place - i will meet you there.
i'll meet you there, my love.”

Irongirl
That Kiss Turned Everything All Serious, Didn't It?
Loved this line: “You have stained my memory with so many wonderful drips on the canvas.”

Aparajita
an epiphany with a caveat – great writing, loved these lines most:
“you will remain you, i will remain i, we will never be we. or together. with lotion. and heavy sighs. and kisses that last hours enough to mend broken hearts at least minimally.”

Chris,
brian eno and desert night – I have to say I loved the first verse most. Mainly cos of the ‘heaven’ part. It’s what I called someone I loved more than life. “(you are heaven)”

And I feel this way often:
“some days i think all that's
not firmly tied down
attached
will just blow away
with the rest of this city's
dust”

I'm just him
confession call
“but since you came into my life
and this: “you slow danced with my sadness”

The Peyton Place I mentioned I believe was in New Jersey, or thereabouts. But yes, the old novel dates me. Simply a metaphor for my current community, a nest of vipers intent on malicious gossip and character assasination. I miss the anonimity of the big city, invisible among millions of my fellow men and women.

Don't mean to be bitter, but just ready to move on.
