B.K., mom is doing better physically, tho the speech is just not coming. That part of the brain was the most damaged in the stroke, apparently. It is slow, but she has the best care money can buy, because she was smart enough to take out long-term care insurance. I see the lesson in it daily. I'll refrain from starting on my political tirade about the health "care" system in this country, since this is a romance site. (Love you Kirk, despite your strong rules, heheh, can you believe that guy?!) Anyway, thanks for asking, and how are you B.K.? Hanging in there?
Thanks Kirk for the unexpected front page pick for this and last month. As alays, a huge picker-upper. I haven't been writing because I had my own health problems and spent some time hospitalized during the holiday. Suffice it to say Christmas was cancelled here (and once again refraining STRONGLY from my comments on health "CARE". hehe.) Y'all read between the lines if you'd like. That being said, starting a new year thanking God for each day, each second of just being able to stand up, go to work, make dinner for my family, etc. A few days of level 9-10 pain leading to eventual hospitalization will get you there, believe me.
And so, happy new year. I'll try to get back to writing, but need to catch up on reading in the meantime. Kirk, LOVE the new edit feature. I am the daughter of an English teacher, and when I see I've made a typographical error, it ruins it for me. Can't wait to get in there and make those corrections. A strong bow to your brilliance on this, and thanks.

darwin, about a few words about forever: Have I mentioned that I love your screen name? Brilliant. On this piece, what I am left with is this answer to you, tho I realize you didn't technically ask. We don't really want to know the answer. The answer is to live in each moment, and not dare to question what lies ahead. In marriage, sure. You are planning to be together. And although I realize this prose simply puts ideas out there in a poetic, beautiful question, there is a philosophy it unearths. I have just married a man 15 years my junior who is perfect for me in every way. A leap of faith? Oh hell yes. Hell. Yes. But after 15 years of just watching how the world works, from a romantic distance, I chose to take the more fun way, if you will. I throw caution to the winds, always. Always. Forever?! Maybe, hopefully, my friend Darwin. But in the meantime, my life is enriched to the point that I sometimes can't stand it. Enough said, for sure.
Forgive my going-on-and-on-ness, but I couldn't even lift my head for two weeks. I am out of control now, sorry sorry sorry. Shutting up now. Promise. Just reading. Ciao. Hehe
hairdiva; So sorry to hear about your hospital stay. My mom had great coverage as well and the hospital milked it to the bone. The health care in this country is thrid world with the ceo's milking it for all it's worth. I wont't get started.
