The Blender Survey Question

Have you ever envied someone else (or another couple) for living a more 'romantic life?'
Chances No - Who knows what goes on behind closed doors?
RennieLorca For a time, I envied Sean Connery's wife. There was something in his eyes, gallant manner, and the way he could wrap his tongue around words that frankly got me hot. I told someone he could "eat crackers in my bed anytime" ... and I told them that I liked the infectious humor and smile and good looks of Tom Selleck. That if he came to my town and my door asking for me, that I was gone .. kiss me goodbye, wish me well. However, I new full well the poor man would bring me back before he got to the town limits because I'd mention something to him about popping the clutch or speeding without his seatbelt. Silly me? Oh, and you can imagine these folks enjoying themselves as "Joe Millionaire" came on. What did I think of this new hunk on the scene. Well, he's is a hunk, and he has a fine grasp of the word "hot" and "babe" which might really give me the hot shivers for all of a couple minutes. So ... no, I am happy with my own life and the real romance in it. I am grateful for all the misery and journeys that brought me to this stage in my life. It takes two for romance. A mythical fifty million, or a dashing actor just cannot bring the real thing in romance to you. I wish I had realized more realities of this when younger, but then again, maybe not. I value what I have so much more for the journey ..... Rennie
Liz I have always envied Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn, Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee...couples who have been together for years and years and years. I envy their history, the years of love they have shared, the security they must feel in such long-term relationships...that's what I want more than anything. I want my soul mate.
pookybear No...my hubbie and I have the most romantic life imaginable. I look at others and wish they could all be as happy and fulfilled as we are.
lilla Of course. I admire couples who truly are into an honest-to-goodness real life romance. Romance may be too poetic though. There are times it doesnt last for very long. I guess, it is when commitment comes in. I do love to know romantic couples, but I do loive it more to see and know more the "happily-committed" ones.
CryingShame58 The only couple I envied was my parents. They truly looked like movie stars and they had fun teasing each other. When they danced together, they made it look so easy. My father was a gentleman. He was always lighting my mother’s cigarette for her, opening doors and showering her with attention and affection. When they were together they couldn’t keep their hands off of each other. They snuggled on the sofa and anytime that they were in bed. Many times when he returned from business trips, he would surprise her with a gift. She was always leaving notes in his pockets, brief case, or suitcase. When he was away on business trips, she would be so anxious and excited waiting for his telephone calls. If she was in the shower when he called, he would sound disappointed that he missed talking to her. While I was growing up, I compared my parents with other married couples. My parents seemed to the most romantic and ideal couple that I knew.
Misti Yes. Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen. Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love. Jim Morrison and Pamela Courson. Romance is a dangerous thing.
Jon James Bond, not only does he save the free world right in the nick of time, but he gets the girl at the end and any other girl inbetween. Have I ever envied a real person? Nope.
muryan I envy my mom and dad. I wish I could have a guy that would make me look at him for 29 years the way my mom still looks at my dad. That is the pure love I want in my life... and the romance without all the frills. Pure lovin' Romance. Hell yeah.
Kirk Yeah, I'd probably shock and offend many here if they realize what an unromantic dork I can be sometimes. It really doesn't come naturally for me.
