anybody got any advice for a girl that drinks too much and lets every emotion come over her?
Since November it's been funerals and hospitals. Right now I have two relatives in hospitals opposite ends of the city. It makes me crazy to go anywhere near those places, but by the time this is all finished I will be a trooper. The workings of health care and insurance SUCK and the movie John Q is more than a movie. If my Uncle had not had wonderful insurance they would have just pulled the plug on him and let him die a while back. One Dr tells the truth while the other smiles and says oh yes you will walk out of here..(straight into to a nursing home with all the tubes which to a very vital man would be a living hell )My Uncle want's to pull them all out and fly away. I would want that too. Life support more than sucks! It's all a game same as this crap is, only it's not life or death here. But it's easier for me to take my wrath out on I suppose and I thank you Wordly for the wonderful words and making me realize that's what I am doing.

BK...I feel terrible for your family, you guys have been through the wringer! I'm glad yuour uncle has good insurance...I work for a health insurance company, and know that sometimes the employers choose benefit packages that allow for the simplest of treatments, and nothing more, outr of cheapness. Then another employer wil have our insurance and have such a great package taht we pay for anything, including sex changes!

I spent over an hour reading everyone's work, catching up, and it is ALL jusat great so far this month!
It's good to see peace reign again here in the hallowed halls of blender land, no one has time to write ( or be in the mood to) whilst there is unrest, life is simply to short. You all deserve a pat on the back!!.... Er, ... Sweetness, about this sex change....

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. It was nice to be away, just as nice to return. From the dregs of what I glimpsed on the board (definately didn't want to read much past yesterday and today, otherwise what's the point of running away from it in the first place???) things seem to have continued tumultuously. So much so that it was even mentioned by Kirk in the April Digest.

Looks like 'Triangulating Love' was a chapter from "The Psychology of Love" by Sternberg & Barnes (eds.), Copyright 1988 Yale University Press. LOL! That's what my memory is reduced to after 10 years!

Jon ~ I, too, love "This Woman's Work" as sung by Maxwell. That whole album is amazing. However, Kate Bush wrote that song (just thought you might like to hear the original). Normally I would never correct, since you did site an established author and didn't try to pull it off like your own (others have tried), but I love Kate Bush! Give her a listen.

I do agree with your initial assumption of Wordsworth. However, I have always found him VERY true to his time. He was a romantic who chronicled each moment, event, and emotion of his life. I find your post, World Philosophy, similar to his, “ The world is too much with us; late and soon”, because you both are making honest and mournful judgments about society and our place in it.
In your last line:
I may be IN this world, but I do not need, nor wish to be, OF this world.
I felt this line declared your need to overcome the world as you see it – and still find peace. Also, I may be wrong and read too much of my own personality into it.
Wordsworth’s first four lines:
The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers:
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!
I always thought he was addressing the outright excess society displayed in a time when disillusionment was high. I could break out my notes from high school English, but that would REALLY highlight my OCD.
Of course, all this is subject to challenge. I was never an English major - and I don't profess to be a literary critic.
