Summer is here! And that's always a romantic time. Or at least it has many romantic associations for me, admittedly most of them aren't as soggy as the weather has been in New England lately.

Another great month on The Blender... many good new works, a small 5-line breakup poem contest, and continuing the Blender tradition of reviewing movies well after they've fallen off the main cultural radar map, a review of "Love Actually"

As always, read and enjoy...

tapioca - "Rosetta"
Previously published in the K & R Carousel, I thought it deserved another look.

Precautionary Measures - darby
Wow. Using an economy of images, darby strikes a perfect emotional note.

From "Sleeping Single in a Double Bed" to "Drinking Double in a Single Bed" - Abogada/abogadalbny
Aparajita had a ""worst break up in 5 lines" (not necessarily limerick) contest this month. This was my personal favorite entry.

lots of shots - cryingshame58
My "runner-up" pick from the contest.

Night Flower
Exhibit A
Two by chris... Exhibit A, "To Belinda", reminds me a bit of William Carlos Williams' This Is Just To Say.

Da Vinci This - B.K.
Yrev etuc!

The Others - musicalduck
My thought after reading this was "but then again does anybody?"

Afternoon Rain - beautifulstranger
A nicely told tale.

some Thursday night (May 4, 2006) - lilla
She never could get the hang of Thursdays.

Untitled - aparajita
Cuddling.

where you and i begin - darwin
Sometimes it's the details in a work that stick in your head. In this case, it's a Bad Religion T-shirt.

Your always with me... - iLYd
See, I told you there was something about Thursdays.

nice to meet you anyway - i'm just him
Romance in an alternate timeline.

Not Enough - softreign
Just not enough.

Sin - Sarah Elizabeth Hume/Sarah143.
Always love the odd Biblical reference.
