The Blender of Love was started in 1993, when Kirk Israel posted a few romantic poems he had run onto the nascent web, along with an invitation for people to send in anything they wanted to see there... and what people wanted to see was their own heart songs.
So Kirk became an editor, posting pretty much all works sent in. In 1997, the site switched to a monthly Digest format, highlighting some of the most interesting pieces on the front page. At its 2003 peak the Love Blender was getting over 400 poems a month, but things have quieted since then.
In 2018 the site switched once again to more blog-like format.
You are welcome to give your romantic creative work a permanent, public home on the Blender of Love! Or come hang out on our comments page.
